Happy Easter Folks

A massive Happy Easter to you all!
I hope you've had and are having a lovely Easter weekend, despite the naff weather this Sunday afternoon. Luckily here in England the weather was nice on Friday and Saturday, so when we had my sister, nieces and brother round Friday we managed to have an egg hunt for my nieces, which was lovely.

But while I sit here on Easter Sunday watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory I thought what a prime opportunity to talk about my lovely afternoon tea that I had with my mum up in London a couple of weeks ago, (mainly because of all the sweet treats we had, reminded me of Easter).

So for Mothers Day this year I took my Mum up to London for a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired tea at the One Aldwych, and it was fabulous. When you first sit down you see the Menu which has two illustrations of characters from the Musical.

After we chose what tea we wanted, (we opted for the caramel tea, which was delicious) the waitress went and brought over the savoury part of the tea, and there was cucumber sandwiches, Salmon on flat breads, tomato pastries and these cheese tart type things.

Then once we had eaten our sandwiches the main part of the tea was unveiled. This was the sweet part, and my goodness it was sweet. What was nice was that you had a little piece of everything, so where the desserts where on the smaller size it was nice because you were able to enjoy everything. There was raspberry flavoured candy floss, a golden chocolate egg with vanilla mousse and mango on top, mini eton mess,  warm scones with cream and jam, blueberry brioche, lemon and orange chocolate pops, and little bottles of chocolate caramel milk.

Yes, it did taste as good as it looks

I think we enjoyed our candy floss too much

After taking a few cheeky pictures we didn't fancy heading home, and we had Charlie and the Chocolate Factory bug so we set out in search for some tickets for the show in the West End.

We managed to get tickets, but since we got them last minute and also the fact it is a very popular show we were sat in the back row of the top balcony. We still had a very good view, despite being very high, and we really enjoyed the show. All the children in the musical were very good, especially the girl who played Veruca Salt I was very impressed. The special effects and the set in the show was incredible, with some very catchy songs as well.

All in all we had a fab day, and I would recommend both the afternoon tea and the show to anyone who enjoys a good musical and has a sweet tooth.

Here is the link for the afternoon tea, you make a reservation then pay on the day.

Anywho that's all for now, cheerio!
