Disney Land Paris Day 1

So here is the first in what will be 5 Disney Land Paris posts. So without further ado I'll get straight on with the journey to Disney and arriving and what not. The purpose of these posts is ultimately to give a little bit of insight into what goes on so if you are planning to go you know what to expect and how things run, and also just so I personally have a journal, if you like, to look back on when I'm old and grey and remember what such a fun trip this was.

So on the 11th of May 2014 Meg and I were leaving Ebbsfleet train station on the Euro Star to go to Disney Land. Some would ask, why the Euro Star? Why not fly? Or get a Ferry? But since neither Meg nor I drive yet the Euro Star was pretty much our only option, plus it gets you there super quick, checking it and out is a doddle, compared to the airport, plus the station in Paris, which is Marne-La-Vallee, is pretty much outside the Disney Land gates.  So super convenient, and since we stayed in a Disney Hotel we just had to hop on a shuttle bus every time we wanted to get to and from the Hotel to the Park, with no extra charge as we were staying at a Disney Hotel. Which moves me on to my next topic, the Hotel...

The front of the hotel
We stayed at Hotel Santa Fe, which is Pixar Cars themed as well as New Mexico, so as well as the whole hotel being themed, it was carried into your rooms as well.

We were in room 239 of the Luigi block of rooms
This was our room, apologises for it having all our stuff everywhere, but these were taken a few days into the trip. In our room we had 2 double beds, a TV, and a bathroom.
This was my bed.

Then this was Megan's bed. Clock the sleeping Mater picture on the wall!

The TV, and my two empty tubs of popcorn.
Considering we spent as long as we could in the parks, Meg and I still managed to watch a fair amount of Disney Channel. It felt like we were about 8 again, I guess some things never change!
I do love a good light bulb mirror!
I didn't take photos of the bathroom, since it just had the standard, toilet and bath shower combo, then this fabulous mirror with light bulbs round it.

Moving back to more of the checking in side of things, when you stay at a Disney Hotel you get a thing called 'Disney Express Luggage service', which basically is a service where when you arrive at the station in Paris you check your luggage in at the Express service counter and they take your luggage to your hotel for you, so you can literally go straight to the park and not worry about lugging your suitcase around. Then on your day of departure you check it in to this room in the hotel and they then take it to the station for you to pick up just before your train home. Its a handy little service which means you don't have to worry about your luggage.

So once we didn't need to worry about our bags Meg and I were away and straight into the Disney Land Park, which is the Park with Sleeping Beauty's castle. Even thought it has only been just over a year since I'd last seen the castle it still took my breath away seeing it again.
It literally looks as though it has been plucked from a fairy tale, so beautiful.

After taking a few photos and still not believing that we were actually there we finally decided to go on a ride, and the one we chose to be our first to go on was 'It's a Small World'. We were both incredibly surprised that we pretty much walked straight onto the ride and probably cued for about five minutes, and this luck continued for the first three days, then by the 4th and 5th we were having to cue for a lot longer.
We managed to pretty much cover the whole of Fantasy Land in our first day which included; Peter Pan's Flight, the Snow White ride, Dumbo's flying Elephants, Mad Hatters Tea cups, Casey Jr, and Le Pays des Contes de Fees, which is a boat cruise though miniature scenes from fairy tales (this is one of my favourite rides).
These are some photos from it:

After checking out the whole of the Disney Land Park and going on a couple more rides, the night was drawing in and we decided to have dinner at Colonel Hathi's Pizza Outpost, which served Pasta, lasagne and pizzas.

I went for the Lasagne and garlic bread with a fanta.

After this we wondered round a bit more went in a few shops and after making the decision to go back to the hotel rather than watch the lights show, Disney Dreams, we hopped on a coach back to the hotel and just chilled. As much as we wanted to stay and watch the lights show on our first night, we we both so tired from travelling and walking around all day, and we didn't feel that we would be able to do the light show justice, plus we knew we still needed to check into the hotel, so we went and had a good nights sleep instead.

After checking in and eventually finding our room we couldn't wait to get into our beds, which were incredibly comfy!
So I've managed to track and work out what I brought on each day, so at the end of each post I thought I would do a haul of what I brought that day.

This is an overall view, as you can see I brought a cuddly Sven I couldn't resist he was just too adorable not to get. My first purchase of the day was buying an autograph book and a pen, because I am just such a big kid, and then Meg and I decided that we needed knew ears, so we both brought these fab silver sparkly sequin ones. Then as some little keepsakes for myself I brought these Aurora and Rapunzel glittery figures, and this adorable Mickey and Minnie magnetic photo frame.
Sven was €29.99

The Princess figures were €12.99 each
Mickey and Minnie Frame was €5.99

Minnie ears were €15.99
The autograph book was €9.99 and the pen was €2.50

Well that's my first day in Disney Land shared with you all! Stay tuned for the next Disney Day that I will be posting soon!

Cheerio!

'A few of my favourite things'- May Favourites, and a catch up

Hey, hi, hello! It's been a few weeks but I am back! I'm back from Disney, boo, and back to normal life, as much as I'd rather stay in Disney Land.
Where do I start? Well Disney Land was A-MAZING to say the least, I had a fabulous time with my best friend Megan, and after the 5 days we didn't want to leave. We came home on the Thursday then the next day we got a coach down to Exeter and I spent the weekend at her house, and we went out on the Saturday night, then on the Sunday I came home. So it was a lot of travelling in the span of a few days, but totally worth it I had such a good time.

So rather than me try and squeeze all my Disney chatter into one blog post I am planning on doing several posts giving you a run down of each day, so I am able to talk about everything and not miss things out. So I thought I would start those posts later in the week, till then to get back into the swing of things I thought I would share with you my May favourites, since the month is nearly over, and I'm hoping to start doing these every month.

So to kick start the favourites I thought I would start with beauty products. Being a strong believer of not testing on animals majority of my beauty products are either from the Body Shop or Superdrug (as neither of those test on animals).

Around about a month ago I purchased this eye cream from the Body Shop, because one thing that really bugs me is the dark circles under my eyes, so I thought I would try this one out and after a month personally I do see a improvement, which is fab. Since it is an eye cream you only need a tiny amount so it does last, I mean I've been using this one for a month and I've still got tons left, and I use it every morning and night.

Vitamin E Eye Cream- £10 from The Body Shop
Another beauty eye related favourite of mine has been these eye make-up remover pads from Superdrug, I've been using these for a while now but only recently where I've been wearing more heavy make-up on my eyes for nights out have I realised how amazing they are. Since your eyes are very sensitive you don't want to be rubbing them too hard with regular make-up wipes to get your make-up off, but with these where they are pads designed especially for your eyes you can rub gently and they still get all the make-up off so easily, even water proof mascara, which I would always find myself practically having to scrub off, it comes off so easily with these pads, so I highly recommend these.

Cleansing Eye Make-up remover pads from Superdrug- Around £1 - £1.50
My favourite fashion trend  recently has been Gingham. I am literally obsessed, I think it is just such a lovely pattern and I can get in touch with my inner Dorothy Gale and still be on trend, bonus!

Check out Primark for Gingham at the moment, they have some lovely pieces for very reasonable prices.
Staying with fashion, the past few months I have seriously been loving Primark, I've always gone into Primark but recently I have been buying the odd bag full like every week or every other week, it is bordering on the line of a serious obsession. I may need help soon...

Moving onto more random favourites a food favourite that I have discovered recently has been the Proper Corn 'Sweet & Salty' popcorn. Being a massive lover of the sweet Cinema popcorn I didn't think I would like this, as I don't like Salty popcorn, but what's great about this is that the sweet and salty flavours are almost merged together. I think it might be a required taste but I really like it. It's almost like having a sweet snack mixed with a packet of salty crisps.

Plus they are only 129 calories, and after eating a bag you feel like you've had a decent amount, which is fab

Starting from January this year I've made it my mission to read al of the Harry Potter books in order from start to finish ( I've read the first three before, but when they got a bit bigger my year 7 self couldn't deal with it). So the book I've been reading this month is Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and I am loving it, like I've loved all the other books, I think I may even be starting to prefer the books to the films!

When Meg and I came back from Disney to hold off our Disney blues we watched Princess and the Frog, and to be completely honest I forgot how great this film actually was! I think I tended to over look the Princess and the Frog and I really don't know why, its so funny, got some cracking songs and a lovely storyline. So this is my movie of the month since I almost feel I've re-discovered it!

Two songs I've been loving recently have been 'Nobody to Love'- By Sigma
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KD5fLb-WgBU

And 'Settle Down'- By The 1975, but the Young Ruffian Remix
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGMzNPyxKbY

Then of course last, but by no means least, my favourite part of May had to be going to Disney Land Paris!

Well that's all my May favourites! But stay tuned for all my Disney Land Paris posts that will be coming soon!

Cheerio!

Worlds of Fantasy- Disney on Ice

Here is a something that I've spoken about in several of my other posts, my trip to see Disney on Ice!
So back in March my boyfriend and I had been together for a year, so to mark that as a surprise he brought me tickets to see Disney on Ice in London, he didn't think he'd be able to come because of work, so my mum had the other ticket (she didn't need much persuading).

As well as tell you about the show I thought I would throw in a little bit of fashion as well and show you what I wore on the day.

This was the full outfit, my denim jacket is from a charity shop, but originally from Primark. The grey vest top is from New Look, and the gorgeous flowery midi skirt is from a charity shop, and it doesn't have a shop inside because it is like proper Vintage, which is fab as it was a bargain.

These are the rings I wore, the Scrabble 'H' piece ring is from a Christmas market that my friend Elise went to, and the plain gold ring was my Nan's. The nail varnish that I'm wearing is, Rimmel London 60 seconds in colour 622 Oh boy you're so fine. It's just a lovely purple shade.

I also wore my everyday watch which has Mickey Mouse on, and it is from Urban Outfitters

For shoes I wore these cute pinky-nude pumps with an ankle strap from Primark.

I wore my usual make-up with a nude lipstick, and I put my hair in a high bun, and kept my fringe out with a middle parting.
Very excited, as you can probably tell.
Before we went to see the show we stopped off and did and little bit of shopping at Westfields, and needless to say I went a little bit crazy in Primark, (haul in my previous post). That was where I got these super snazzy Minnie Mouse sunglasses.

On arriving I could see that we were some of the eldest people there, but Disney is ageless, right?
I was incredibly jealous of all the little girls running around in Elsa costumes they looked adorable, if only they made them in my size...
The theme of the show was Words of Fantasy, so they had 4 different 'worlds' that they visited throughout the show, those being; The Little Mermaids, Cars, Tinkerbell and friends, and finally Toy Story.

Our view from our seats
We had fabulous seats, with a great view of the ice rink. It began with the classic characters like Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy coming out and introducing the show, and the first act featured the story of the Little Mermaid, Cars, and Tinkerbell and the fairies from Pixie Hollow, then the second act was entirely dedicated to Toy Story. The Little Mermaid section was fantastic, they told an abridged version of the story and included several of the classic songs from the film, like Under the Sea, Part of your World and Kiss the Girl, which was beautiful to watch. Tinkerbell's section also told a story of her trying to find her place amongst the other fairies, which included a couple of songs. The Cars section was very cleverly done as they had real cars on the ice driving round the rink.
But the second act, which told a shortened down version of Toy Story 3, was my favourite. They had all the characters from the film, the originals like Woody, Buzz, Ham, Rex and Slinky Dog and of course Jessie and Bullseye and the others. My mum and I were cracking up it was just so funny and amazing to watch, the guy that played Ken had his mannerisms down to a T. Not to mention the massive Green Army Men ensemble  number which was fantastic.
Then for the end all the classic characters came out and they had one more number all together before the show ended.

Because I am such a big kid on the way out I picked up this Pink light up Minnie Mouse bow, which I wore all the way home might I add. I'm also planning to wear them in Disney Land, which is a WEEK TODAY.

But that was my Disney on Ice experience, I hope you enjoyed this, and I would defiantly recommend going if you get the opportunity, I know they are already booking for the next one which is 100 Years of Magic, which is touring this Autumn.

Anywho that is it for now, I'll be back very soon with a Disney Land Paris related post!
